Tyron Krost Keeps Aussie Millions Main Event Title in Australia

The 2010 Aussie Millions Main Event had 746 players compete in the tournament, but only one player could walk away with the bragging rights of winning the tournament. Tyron Krost ended up walking away with the title and won $2 million for his efforts, but it didn’t come easy. Sorel Mizzi had a huge chip lead going into the final table, but nothing seemed to work out for him and he ended up finishing in third place.

I was hoping that Annette Obrestad would finish in first place, but that just wasn’t in the cards for her today. Obrestad finished in seventh place which is still a great finish for her, but I’m sure she was hoping for a stronger finish. Tyron is only 23 years old and is a local to Australia which means that the title will be staying in Australia again this year. I’m not sure what it is about the Aussie Millions Main Event, but it seems that the Australians always put on a great show.

Krost almost eliminated all of the opponents on the final table which is very impressive. He was second in chips to start the day, but he didn’t have that many more then the other players. Mizzi was the only player with tons of chips to start the final table, but it goes to show you that you’re never out until you’re chips are all gone. With so many players in the tournament this year the prize pool was huge. Here is a breakdown of how the players ended up finishing and how much money each of them earned.
