Vanessa Selbst Takes Home the 2010 NAPT Mohegan Main Event Title

Over the weekend the 2010 NAPT Mohegan Main Event finished up and we have a lady winner to report. Most of you will probably remember Vanessa Selbst since she’s had some other top finishes in the past. Vanessa has earned quite a few achievements in her poker career thus far and I’m sure she can’t wait to see if she can keep things going over the rest of the year. Mike Beasley proved to be a good challenge for Selbst, but nobody was hitting more hands then her today.

The final table was full of great talent today although none of the really big names in the tournament ended up making the cut for day five. Phil Ivey was in good shape earlier in the week, but after running card dead for a bit he ended up bowing out of the event earlier then he wanted too. There were plenty of PokerStars players on the fourth day of action and four of them ended up making the final table today.

There was only one PokerStars Pro left in the event on day four though and that was Vanessa Rousso. Rousso ended up finishing the tournament in tenth place and just missed the final table by a couple spots. I’m sure she would have liked reaching the final table after making it so deep, but she should still be pleased with the top 10 finish. Selbst was the only female player to make the final table and she took care of the other 7 guys without much of a problem. The final positions on the final table ended up as followed.
