Allen Cunningham is one of several professional poker players who use a background in higher education as part of a foundation for their style of play. In Cunningham's case, a few years of an engineering degree at UCLA (he dropped out to play poker full time after realizing he was quite good at it) has led him to approach the game in an analytical manner.
