Forget the best woman player in the world, Jennifer Harman has proved over and over that she is in fact one of the very best players in the game today, period. This is backed up by her winnings year after year as well as her tournament placements. Harman is a wife and mother in addition to being a pro poker player, and a noted expert when it comes to tutoring players in order to turn them into better players. Harman started to play poker at the tender age of eight, and turned professional after graduating from the University of Nevada.
Her decision did not sit well with her family, and she only recently began to speak to her father again. Her contributions to the world of poker includes the authorship of the limit hold'em chapter of Super System II, the most successful book on the game in history. Harman also founded the organization Creating Organ Donation Awareness, a non-profit endeavor started after she received a kidney transplant. Jennifer Harman is currently the only female who plays regularly at the Big Game at the Bellagio, and is one of the group of players to take on Andy Beal in his regular forays into the poker world.
