There are a lot of notable celebrities that also enjoy a solid reputation as poker players, but when it comes to the trend setter and the most successful, Jennifer Tilly is the person to turn to. Tilly aspired to be an actress for much of her life, and she took action on this plan by attending acting classes in Missouri. With above average looks and abilities, Tilly found herself with a few guest roles on television series and was nominated for and Academy Award for her role in Bullets Over Broadway.
Her acting includes several other small roles as well as voice overs in shows such as the Simpsons and Monsters Inc., but she has said that she is walking away from acting in order to pursue poker full time. The dream was made into reality in 2005 when she walked away with the top prize (in a field that included over 600 other competitors) at the Ladies No Limit Hold 'em event at the World Series of Poker.
